At SpecWorks.uk, we are building a dedicated performance specification library — clear, measurable, and aligned with real-world targets. Not vague. Not open-ended. Just structured performance criteria that guide design-and-build teams without tying their hands.

A performance specification sets out what a building element or system must achieve — without dictating how it must be built.

Instead of saying “use this exact product,” a performance spec might say:

• Achieve a U-value of 0.18 W/m²K
   
• Provide 30 minutes fire resistance
   
• Meet an airborne sound reduction of 45 dB
   
• Be suitable for high-humidity internal environments
